Oil Products KZ LLP commenced its refining activities in 08.10.2019 with a solitary crude distillation unit that had a capacity of 57,000 barrels per day. Currently, we have enhanced our production capabilities to reach up to 180,000 barrels per day, thanks to significant investments in debottlenecking and expansion. This advancement positions us as one of the leading oil Refinery in Kazakhstan. Our workforce consists of 210 employees, which includes both our direct staff and contracted personnel.
Sustainable development
Since 2019, the Company has been releasing a Sustainable Development Report that is developed in alignment with the GRI Guidelines.
An assessment of the company's ESG system was initiated, leading to the creation of a Roadmap that outlines recommendations for enhancing the ESG framework and improving the company's standings in ESG ratings. The fundamental principle of oil refining is distillation, which divides crude oil into lighter fuels and heavier oils, such as asphalt.
CRUDE DISTILLATION UNIT
Distillation is a method used to separate different hydrocarbons according to their distinct boiling points within a distillation tower. The heaviest hydrocarbons, which possess the highest boiling points, are extracted from the bottom of the tower, while lighter hydrocarbons are collected from higher levels as their boiling points decrease.
HYDROTREATER
Government regulations mandate that petroleum products must have restricted sulfur content. As a result, refineries are obligated to process any sulfur-containing streams. This procedure is known as hydrotreating. During hydrotreating, sulfur is removed by directing the petroleum streams over fixed catalyst beds while introducing excess hydrogen under high temperature and pressure conditions.
